DPL Qualification 2026 to Commence on June 8

The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has announced that the Dhivehi Premier League (DPL) Qualification 2026 will commence on June 8, with six teams battling for places in the country’s top-tier football competition.

The opening day will feature two matches at the National Stadium. K. Huraa will take on Club Green Streets at 4:00 PM, before GDh. Gadhdhoo face HA. Dhidhdhoo at 9:00 PM.

A total of six teams will participate in the qualification tournament. They are HA. Dhidhdhoo, K. Huraa, GDh. Gadhdhoo, Biss Buru Sports Club, TC Sports Club, and Club Green Streets.

Among the participating clubs, TC Sports Club and Club Green Streets competed in the last Dhivehi Premier League season, finishing seventh and eighth respectively. The remaining four teams qualified as regional champions through FAM’s regional football competitions.

The competition will be played in a single round-robin format at the National Stadium, with each team facing the other five sides once. A total of 15 matches will be played between June 8 and June 25.

The second matchday is scheduled for June 9, when Biss Buru Sports Club take on TC Sports Club. Other key fixtures include K. Huraa vs GDh. Gadhdhoo on June 12 and Club Green Streets vs GDh. Gadhdhoo on June 24, the final round of matches before the tournament concludes on June 25 with HA. Dhidhdhoo facing Biss Buru Sports Club.

The qualification tournament is expected to attract strong support from football fans across the country, with several island-based clubs aiming to secure promotion to the Dhivehi Premier League.

Top four at the end of the league will qualify for the Dhivehi Premier League 2026/27.
