Former Maldives captain Imran Mohamed, the first Maldivian footballer to reach 100 international appearances, has congratulated Ali Ashfaq on achieving the same milestone for the national team.

In a message shared on social media, Imran hailed Ashfaq’s achievement and praised his immense contribution to Maldivian football over the years.

“100 caps for the nation. Congratulations Ali Ashfaq on this historic milestone. Your dedication, consistency, and impact on Maldivian football have left a legacy that will be remembered for generations. Thank you for proudly representing the Maldives,” Imran wrote.

Ashfaq became only the second Maldivian footballer to earn 100 caps for the national team, joining an exclusive club led by Imran, who was the first player from the Maldives to reach the landmark.

One of the most decorated players in the country’s history, Ashfaq has represented Maldives with distinction for more than two decades. The veteran striker has captained the national team and played a key role in many of the nation’s memorable achievements on the international stage.
