Central Region League Concludes with Home Defeat for Meedhoo
The Bank of Maldives Central Region League concluded today with hosts Meedhoo suffering a 2-1 defeat to Mahibadhoo in their final match of the competition.
Meedhoo took the lead in front of their home supporters, but Mahibadhoo staged an impressive comeback to secure all three points and finish their campaign on a high note.
With the result, Mahibadhoo climbed to third place in the final standings with seven points. Meedhoo finished at the bottom of the table with six points from six matches.
Huraa were crowned Central Region League champions after collecting 13 points from six games. Kudahuvadhoo secured second place with eight points, while Mahibadhoo finished third on seven points.
As Central Region champions, Huraa advance to the Qualifiers Round of next edition of Dhivehi Premier League, where they will join South Region champions Gdh. Gadhdhoo, North Region champions HA. Dhidhdhoo, and Male’ Region champions Biss Buru Sports Club.
