Dhivehi Premier League Qualification Draw Set for Tonight

The draw for the 2026/27 Dhivehi Premier League Qualification Tournament will be held at 22:00 tonight, determining the path for six teams competing for places in next season’s top flight. The qualification tournament forms part of the new promotion and relegation system introduced by the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), which allows regional champions to challenge for Premier League spots.
The six participating teams are:
- – HA. Dhidhdhoo (North Region champions)
- – K. Huraa (Central Region champions)
- – GDh. Gadhdhoo (South Region champions)
- – Bissburu Sports Club
- – TC Sports Club
- – Club Green Streets
TC Sports Club and Club Green Streets enter the qualification competition after finishing seventh and eighth respectively in the 2025/26 Dhivehi Premier League season, while Dhidhdhoo, Huraa and Gadhdhoo qualified as regional league champions
Under FAM’s revised domestic football structure, teams finishing seventh and eighth in the Premier League must compete against regional champions for a place in the following season’s Dhivehi Premier League. The qualification tournament is designed to create a direct pathway from regional football to the country’s highest division.
The draw ceremony tonight will determine the matchups and route to qualification as clubs from across the Maldives battle for a place in the 2026/27 Dhivehi Premier League.
