Ilan Calls for Full Home Support Ahead of Diamond Jubilee Tournament
Mohamed Ilan Imran has called on Maldivian fans to pack the stadium as he prepares for his first senior international tournament with the Maldives national team.
The youngster, who recently finished as the top scorer of the SAFF Under-20 Championship held in the Maldives, has been included in the national squad for the upcoming Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s rising football talents, Ilan said playing in his first senior tournament on home soil will be a special moment in his career.
“This is my first senior tournament and its going to be special for me. I hope the stadium will be full of our supporters.”
The Diamond Jubilee Tournament will feature Maldives, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh as part of the celebrations marking 75 years of football in the Maldives.
Fans are expected to turn out in large numbers as the young striker looks to continue his impressive form on the senior stage.
