Maldives Welcomes Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh for Diamond Jubilee Tournament

All participating teams have arrived in Malé ahead of the highly anticipated Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament, which will kick off on June 1 as part of the Football Association of Maldives’ 75th anniversary celebrations.
Hosts Maldives will be joined by Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh in the four-nation tournament, which is set to bring together some of South Asia’s emerging football talents.
The visiting teams completed their arrivals today, with officials, coaching staff and players settling into their preparations before the opening matches.
Maldives will open their campaign against Afghanistan on June 1, while Pakistan and Bangladesh will also begin their quest for the title in the opening round of fixtures.
The Diamond Jubilee Tournament forms part of a series of events organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of football administration in the Maldives.
The competition is expected to provide valuable international exposure for the participating teams while offering local fans the opportunity to witness high-level regional football.
With all squads now in the capital, attention turns to the opening matches as the four nations prepare to battle for the inaugural Diamond Jubilee Tournament crown.
