Maziya through to President’s Cup final
Maziya booked their place in the President’s Cup final after edging past New Radiant 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout, following a 2-2 draw at the end of regular time.
Maziya headed into the halftime break with a commanding 2-0 advantage, courtesy of a clinical brace from Ahmed Aiham.
New Radiant mounted a strong comeback early in the second half, with Gero pulling one back before substitute Ali Ashfaq leveled the score with a superb finish from inside the penalty area.
In the ensuing shootout, Maziya goalkeeper Hussain proved decisive, saving spot-kicks from Bility and Ashfaq. At the other end, New Radiant keeper Faisal denied Aisam, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Maziya from sealing a 4-3 victory on penalties.
