Otis Khan Confident as Pakistan Arrive for Diamond Jubilee Tournament

Pakistan winger Otis Khan says the team is well prepared and determined to compete for the title after arriving in Maldives for the Diamond Jubilee Tournament.

Speaking after the team’s arrival, Khan praised Pakistan’s preparations in Islamabad and said the squad is ready for the challenge ahead.

“Our practice has gone really well. We had five or six days in Islamabad with really good technical, tactical and fitness training. Overall, preparation has been really good. We want to compete, we want to win every game and we want to be in the final,”

The Diamond Jubilee Tournament will feature Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, with matches scheduled to begin from June 1 in Male’.

Khan is among the most recognisable names in the Pakistan squad. Born in Manchester, England, the 30-year-old winger developed through the youth systems of Manchester United and Sheffield United before building a professional career across the English football pyramid. He has represented clubs including Yeovil Town, Mansfield Town, Tranmere Rovers, Leyton Orient and Grimsby Town.

Eligible to represent Pakistan through his family roots, Khan officially joined the national team setup in 2023 and has since become a key figure for the side, even captaining the national team during FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Pakistan will be hoping Khan’s experience and attacking quality can help guide the team to a strong showing in the Diamond Jubilee Tournament as they prepare to face some of South Asia’s top sides in Maldives.
