Pakistan Coach Solano Urges Respect for All Opponents

Pakistan head coach Nolberto Solano has stressed the importance of professionalism and respect as his side prepares to face Bangladesh in the opening match of the Diamond Jubilee Tournament this afternoon.

Speaking ahead of the tournament opener, Solano said Pakistan’s focus extends beyond the current competition as the team continues its preparations for future international assignments.

“We are looking ahead to the future. We have several friendly competitions this year, and next year we will start competing again in qualification tournaments,” Solano said.

The former Peru international acknowledged the quality of the teams competing in the tournament, insisting that no opponent should be underestimated.

“Whether it is Afghanistan, Maldives or Bangladesh, these are tough opponents. I heard Bangladesh are bringing a younger squad, but it is still a national team. We have to respect every opponent, be professional and represent Pakistan in the best way possible,” he added.

Pakistan will kick off their Diamond Jubilee Tournament campaign against Bangladesh this afternoon in what is expected to be a competitive encounter between two sides eager to make a strong start.

The Diamond Jubilee Tournament brings together Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan as part of the celebrations marking 75 years of football in the Maldives.
