PFF President Hails Historic Pakistan Final Appearance

Pakistan Football Federation President Syed Mohsen Gilani has praised the national team after they reached the final of the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament, describing the achievement as a milestone more than six decades in the making.

Pakistan secured their place in the final following an impressive campaign in the tournament and will now face Afghanistan in the title decider. The achievement marks the country’s first appearance in the final of a stand-alone international football tournament in over 60 years.

Speaking after the historic qualification, Gilani congratulated the players and coaching staff for delivering a result that Pakistani football supporters had waited generations to witness.

“We have waited for this day for over six decades and I would like to congratulate our team for delivering a result that our fans have long been waiting for,” Gilani said.

Pakistan entered the tournament as one of the lower-ranked teams but produced a series of disciplined performances, including a memorable victory over hosts Maldives, to secure their place in the final.

Gilani described the achievement as evidence that the national team’s development efforts are beginning to bear fruit.

“This is a sign of growth, hard work and dedication and we will continue to strive to ensure that results like these become the norm rather than an exception,” he added.

Pakistan’s run to the final has generated excitement among supporters and has been viewed as a significant moment for a nation seeking to rebuild its footballing reputation on the international stage.

The team will now have an opportunity to complete its remarkable journey when it faces Afghanistan in the final of the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament.

Victory in the final would cap one of the most memorable chapters in Pakistan’s recent football history and provide further encouragement that the country’s football revival is moving in the right direction.
