Solano eyes SAFF prep at Maldives tournament

Pakistan head coach Nolberto Solano has stated that the upcoming Diamond Jubilee Tournament in the Maldives will play a key role in preparing his side for the SAFF Championship later this year.
Pakistan are one of four nations set to compete in the tournament alongside hosts Maldives, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
The tournament will mark Pakistan Men’s National Team’s first friendly competition in three years since the Mauritius Four Nations Cup in June 2023, where they faced African sides Mauritius, Kenya and Djibouti.
Pakistan are currently holding a training camp at the Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad under Solano’s supervision. The squad for the Maldives trip is expected to be finalized in the coming days, with a strong lineup anticipated for the tournament.
The Diamond Jubilee Tournament will take place in the Maldives from June 1 to 10 as part of the celebrations marking a historic milestone for Maldivian football.
