Srabon Stars as 10-Man Bangladesh Hold Pakistan to Goalless Draw

Bangladesh began their Diamond Jubilee Tournament campaign with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Pakistan in the opening match of the competition, despite playing with 10 men for a significant portion of the game.
The match remained evenly contested throughout, with both sides creating opportunities but failing to find a breakthrough. Bangladesh were forced to dig deep after captain SM Monjurur Rahman was shown a red card, reducing his side to 10 players.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Bangladesh displayed resilience and defensive discipline to keep Pakistan at bay. Goalkeeper Md Mehedi Hasan Srabon produced a series of impressive saves to preserve the clean sheet and was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player of the Match.
Pakistan pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but Srabon’s heroics and Bangladesh’s determined defending ensured the points were shared.
The result leaves both teams with a point after their opening fixture of the tournament.
Bangladesh will next face Afghanistan as they look to build on their encouraging start, while Pakistan will take on hosts Maldives in the next round of matches.
The Diamond Jubilee Tournament continues with all four teams still firmly in contention as the battle for a place in the final intensifies.
